About North Star Academy of Lantana
North Star Academy is owned and operated by Aaron and Kristy Jones. We both are at the school each day to ensure your child receives the best childcare possible. As parents with a passion for children, we understand how difficult it is to leave your child every day, but appreciate the need to do so in order to provide a secure life for your family.
After living near Lantana for a few years, we realized the significant need for childcare and preschool in such a growing community, and had the option of purchasing into a franchise or opening a private center on our own. After much review, we realized that a private center would allow us to work more closely with the parents of Lantana in customizing our curriculum to your desires and the abilities of your children. We offer a strong preschool curriculum in order to prepare your children for elementary school and for their success in life.
We have a very strong belief in God and family, and everything we do is to strengthen our relationship with God first, and then as a family. We hope to become a part of your family, and not just the place where you drop your child off each morning. It is our desire to complement what you teach your child at home, and bear, in part, some of the burdens of parenthood.
Between the two of us, we feel we have significant education and experience. We both obtained our undergraduate degrees from Texas A&M University. In addition, Kristy completed her MBA at Southern Methodist University in 2004, while Aaron obtained his MBA from The University of Dallas at the same time. Kristy worked through college to gain 4 years of teaching experience with several preschools and has held her Child Care Director's License since March of 2004. Aaron is currently a part-time business professor at North Central Texas College in Corinth. We both attend Fellowship Church in Grapevine where we serve regularly and aid local missions. We both love to be outdoors riding bikes, hiking, snow-skiing, playing sports and swimming. Aaron is an avid runner and completed his first marathon in December of 2003, while Kristy is more of a casual runner now that she spends most of her free time caring for their daughter, Camryn and new baby boy Pierce.
We see a bright future in teaching so many children and look forward to teaching yours! There cannot be a more rewarding job than to watch children grow up strong, secure and intelligent, and know that you had a part in their success.
